Economic Growth Business Incubator Celebrates Success

For the 4th year in a row, the Economic Growth Business Incubator (EGBI) will share a night with friends and supporters to celebrate a remarkable year and their clients’ accomplishments at their Celebrating Success fundraiser.  The 4th Annual Celebrating Success event will be on Thursday, November 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the For the City Center (500 E St Johns Ave, Austin, TX 78752).  It is the time to experience how EGBI is changing lives and contributing to the economic development of our region by assisting entrepreneurs in starting businesses and creating jobs.

Economic Growth Business Incubator (EGBI) provides emerging and existing businesses led primarily by historically economically disadvantaged community members of the Greater Austin area the tools to establish and grow their business through education, business plan assistance, and consulting. Their focus is the creation and nurture of enterprises that become a vital part of the community and make an impact to the local economy as a whole. Whether area entrepreneurs want to start a business or take your small business to the next level, EGBI is a great resource.  EGBI has a unique approach to entrepreneurial incubation – all-inclusive training, pre-launch education, post-launch support, Spanish support, and office space. EGBI strive to be a one-stop shop for your emerging, growth-oriented enterprise.

MUNDU Media’s founder, Monica Peña, is proud to be named Economic Growth Business Incubator’s 2014 Volunteer of the Year for being one of their most reliable volunteers by sharing her time and talent volunteering as class instructor.  She has represented EGBI and promotes their services at various community events.  Join EGBI at their annual fundraiser on November 13th as we celebrate success!

Social Good Summit Austin 2013

By: Monica Peña   (@MUNDUmedia)

Social Good Summit is a community of like-minded individuals who believe in having the power to solve the world’s greatest problems.  Austin’s event will take place on September 24th, 2013 at Austin Community College Eastview with the focus on not only the progress that has been made in a year, but more importantly the new and innovative developments made to incorporate your voice, ideas, and actions.   This year’s theme will be “Me to the power of (We)”, the concept of aligning all efforts in creating social good in the world by empowering individuals to spur innovative change through support,  creating a ripple change that becomes contagious and continuous.

Social Good Summit Austin 2013 will include for the first time, Social Innovators Fastpitch featuring social entrepreneurs and innovators from the community who are working on changing the world.   Attendees will get to hear ideas and vote on who will lead the initiative for the year.  The goal is to raise $5000 through donors using Crowd Tilt to award the prize winner to be awarded to the winner at the event.

Stay Tuned for June’s AutoShow

By: Monica Peña   (@MUNDUmedia)

I was contacted in May with the opportunity to talk about being a member of Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas, my company, and my experience driving the Buick Encore for an Autoshow that will air in June thanks to General Motors, Auto Show TV, and being part of an extraordinary Texas wide women’s organization.

Part of the process was driving the BUICK Encore for a week so that I could share how I felt about the automobile. I thoroughly enjoyed the leather appointed seats, audio system, and overall smoothness of the vehicle while I drove to appointments and ran my errands.

On film day I was able to meet Eric Paz of Auto Show TV in person with the only program on television in Spanish specifically explaining about vehicles in the region. The 30 minute car show that I will appear in will air June 30th at 10 am in Spanish on Telemundo in Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio to reach approximately 1.4 million viewers.
