ABOUT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Susan Patten is Vice President of Government Relations for Time Warner Cable, based in Austin. She began her cable career in 1997 when the Time Warner Cable affiliate in El Paso lured her with the challenge of repairing the company’s image in the community. She has since held various government, community and media relations roles for the company.
Susan serves on the board of the Texas Cable Association, is an alumna of the Texas Lyceum, and is past-president of the Texas Chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications. She has been engaged in women’s development and mentoring programs throughout her career.
Susan began her career in newspaper reporting, editing and design, leaving her “paid professional observer” role to serve as Vice President of Community Development at the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce before getting into cable. Susan is a fifth-generation Texan, a San Antonio native and graduate of Texas Christian University. She and her husband, Mike, spend their spare time doting on their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.
